In 2010 Whitmore Press is partnering with Poetry Idol to offer publication of a limited edition chapbook to the poet submitting the best manuscript sample. To enter, you don’t have to be a performance poet or take part in a poetry slam. The Whitmore Press/Poetry Idol Manuscript Prize is judged strictly on the merits of ‘poetry on the page’, with submissions from both emerging and established poets welcome. The winner will be announced at the 2010 Melbourne Writers Festival.
Ten poets shortlisted for the manuscript prize will also be published in the annual Paradise Anthology, with the best of these having the option of performing at the final of Poetry Idol to be held at BMW Edge, Federation Square as part of the Melbourne Writers Festival, competing for the first prize of $2000.
