Calling poets for Pure Poetry Ballarat – Ballarat, Hepburn, Golden Plains, Moorabool

Pure Poetry Ballarat was a resounding success last year with a standing room only crowd at the Art Gallery of Ballarat for the final performance. It’s on again this year and is expected to be even more popular, so get your poems in to see if you’ll be selected for Pure Poetry 2010.
Part I: Mentoring opportunity
Eight emerging poets living in the City of Ballarat or the Hepburn, Golden Plains or Moorabool Shire Councils will be selected to participate in a 3-week mentoring program with renowned Castlemaine poet Ross Donlon. Submissions of original poetry are now being accepted.
Closing date for submissions: Monday 15 March
Part II: Pure Poetry Recital
Following the mentoring program, poets take to the stage to read their selected works in the celebratory Pure Poetry Recital accompanied by contemporary classical music and recent compositions by Ballarat’s Suzie May Camm and Melbourne’s Anthony Lyons, played live by professional musicians from Ballarat and Melbourne.
